Mary L.(Krolak) Schier, 84, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Heritage Health of Peru. A prayer service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, Peru with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek, OSB officiating. Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Webster Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Schier was born June 20, 1934 in Peru to Leo and Julia (Golatka) Krolak. She married Kenneth Schier on September 11, 1954 in St. Valentine’s Church, Peru. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Peru. Mary had been a Sacristan with the church since 1989. She also sang in the choir and was a Eucharistic Minister. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary K. (Kevin) Glubczynski, of Peru and Loretta (Bob) Reese, of Ramah, CO; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Raymond J. (Irene) Krolak, of Rochester, MN, Leo V. Krolak, of Plantation, FL, and John E. (Barb) Krolak, of Peru. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, on December 1, 2018, 2 sons, Christopher and Kenneth Schier, Jr.; a daughter, Theresa Schier. Memorials may be directed to Heritage Health in Peru.
